We help you to figure out your skin type…

Everyone has a skin type and figuring out your skin type has never been so easy, with a plethora of clean skincare products finding out what works for your skin type is a journey of exploration which can be an interesting one. There are five different skin types which ranges from oily, dry, normal, combination and sensitive. Understanding your skin type is the first step in looking after your skin and making better informed decisions which will resort to getting the best results. Firstly, you must understand the common characteristics of the different skin types.

Oily: this is caused by an excessive number of sebaceous glands; they are present everywhere on the human skin. This is a gland in the skin that opens into a hair follicle, once this gets clogged the oil gradually builds up and swells in the glands and this continues to produce more sebum.

Dry: dry skin can be caused by many factors such as the weather or even skin conditions such as eczema. This can be identified by the roughness of the skin and feeling extremely tight. Many individuals suffer from dry skin. Your complexion will look dull and lifeless which will look elasticity.

Normal: this is probably the skin type that many wish for, having this skin type normally indicates a healthy-looking skin complexion that is free from imperfections and displays a smooth texture. Hardly any visible signs of blemishes and patches on the skin.

Combination: this presents both oily and dry skin, your skin type is neither one nor the other. You have probably heard of the term the T-Zone which is the area with the most amount of oil which tends to be around the forehead, nose, and the chin.

Sensitive: sensitive skin can be extremely fragile and prone to breakouts hence why it is important to find out the best products that work for you. Using products that might flare up your sensitive skin can cause itching, sometimes discomfort.

These are all the different skin types, there are several different ways to determine your skin and the easiest is to visit an aesthetician or you can identify this at home by using online skincare quizzes. We believe you do not have to use a plethora of different products however it is about finding out what works well for the skin to help it flourish and thrive. It will help you to create a healthy skincare regime.
